Indigo / Black Concerto Oshima Tsumugi Ikat Silk from Japan, By the Yard, #104

Navy, black, two other blues, red and bit of green. It's an incredibly intricate, difficult weave with so much detail. In the light, the waves of rectangles in changing sizes and pathways are more visible - they try to hide in lower lights, and the quite dark indigo is the focus. It's hard to tell from the photos but some of the rectangles are red, green, and violet.  A true ikat, both sides are just the same.  It's soft, thin, smooth, light, a bit crisp. It has body, not drape. True certified Oshima; a beloved, increasingly rare  kimono silk in Japan for centuries. Most are plant and mud dyed and woven by hand, as we assume this one was.

14" wide. Sold by the full yard and we'll cut yours as one piece from the never used, excellent condition vintage bolt.  100% Silk. Japan.  If you're first and need more than 2-3 yards, you'll also get the labels and black border portion for no charge.
