REMNANT Bamboo Moon, Vintage Oshima Kimono Dot Print Silk/Cotton/Wool ? from Japan 14" X 43" PIECE #756

This lush print is all dots, mostly cream, all small, on many reds, wines, orange-reds, cranberry, burgundy, olive, ochre, and black. To us, it reads largely as cayenne, (mixed with many other colors of course), quite warm, not towards purple at all. It's very intricate and complex - stunningly, elegantly beautiful. It's thin, light, tightly woven, with all the good qualities of both silk and cotton. We think the weft is one and the warp is the other. It has more body than drape and is similar to the weight of quilting cotton but much more fine, silky and smooth. It's just barely crisp. The back is mostly cream; the print comes through just a little. 14" wide, 19/20" repeat. We do think the warp is all silk. The weft could be all cotton, all wool, or a blend of the two.  Japan.  It is from Oshima Japan. 

It's much better in person; there are so many colors mixed together in such fine detail that the camera struggles to capture each color accurately.

This is the last of this fabric; it's 14" wide and 37" long plus the dark red border with light tan wording in Japanese.  Total length 43"
