Wild Iris Meadow Vintage Kimono Silk Chirimen Crepe Print from Japan, 9" x 60" Item #236

The stems are two grays, and the tiny random iris blooms are red, yellow, pink and a few white. We see the background as cool off-white/ecru. The art has a watercolor look. This silk is thin and light, with a subtle classic chirimen pebbly texture. It has a dry hand and no shine at all. It has drape but in our opinion not liquid drape.  These are pieces recycled from a decades-old kimono from Japan. Excellent condition. On these narrower pieces (the original whole width was 13") you'll have one selvedge and one cut edge.  100% Silk. Japan.
