Mother of Pearl ranging from bright white to slightly warm white, these were made back when shell buttons were even more beautiful, glowing and strong. Great raised curvy diamond shape on the front adds dimension and strength. Backs are smooth and the same color, shown on the ruler. These are vintage nurses' uniform buttons from roughly the 1930's-1970's. Our friend's mother, who was a nurse, removed them from each of her uniforms before getting a new one - clearly the buttons, to her, were too pretty to waste. We think they are USA-made - back then, lots of buttons were made in Iowa and other places. We also think they are heavier than modern shell buttons. Vintage true Mother of Pearl Shell. Sold per pack of 20.
