Snowstorm on Pale Gold Satin Vintage Kimono Silk, 14" x 18" #4680
Very lustrous and soft, this silk satin has the most lovely shade of pale gold background and snowflakes. To us, it doesn't seem like ivory although technically it may be - it seems to glow from within and almost seems ever so slightly metallic. Groups of trees are blues, purples, greens and bronze. This is a higher end kimono silk that was most likely hand dyed by a skilled silk artist decades ago, in Japan. The silk is what we would call a heavy charmeuse here, with a satin front that glows but isn't garish, and a crepe weave on the back. Drapey, lustrous, thin and light, these pieces were once part of a kimono and are in excellent condition. Exceptional 100% Silk. Japan.
