Predominantly purple, with undulating, changing stripes in school-bus yellow-orange, greens and aqua blues. Kota Doria is a fabric that's been woven for centuries in India, often for summer saris and shawls; it's more air than fabric, drapey and supple, light as a feather. It's as sheer and flowy as chiffon but the weave is a bit different as you can see. Usually these Kota Doria fabrics are about 90% Silk/10% Cotton, but this artisan didn't specify and it feels like pure silk. Very delicate. Hand dyed So thin and light, it weighs less than an ounce (.8 to be exact) per 40" wide yard. Limited supply one of a kind, artisan fabric; the design flows and changes throughout so there are no two areas that will match exactly. India.
