Burgundy Ikat Handwoven Vintage Tsumugi Kimono Silk from Japan 14.5" x 68" #512

Deep red wine/burgundy silk with stripes in white and yellow, geometric ikat designs in red, yellow and green.  The nearly-white of the flowers is woven with gold and red creating a diffused white.  Very soft and slubby; feels like thick silk noil. No shine. It has wonderful handwoven character and texture from the slubs. It's thin, mid-light-weight, with some body, and no drape.   10" between rows of flowers. It's a true ikat so it is the same front and back. Vintage kimono silk piece from Japan in excellent condition; it was cut from a never-used, probably decades-old bolt. 100% Silk. Japan.
