Meisen Coppery Brown/Dark Red Old Kimono Silk Pieces from Japan, Suite of 11 Pieces #252
These are all pieces from an old, disassembled kimono, classic Meisen silk; the silky kind, not the cottony kind. Thin, fine, smooth, soft and light, a bit delicate, and the same front and back. True Meisen ikat with intentional 'blurry' edges and quite a bit of of sheen, in dark red, light gray, turquoise/teal, coppery brown and a blushy taupe. It's quite old and has a few imperfections - definitely not pristine condition but it seems like it's been cleaned, and somehow the 'flaws' add to the beauty and mysterious history of these old kimono pieces. 100% Silk, Probably 60-70 years old, from a former kimono. Very light; all 11 pieces weigh only 10 ounces. Japan. Order "1" for all 11 pieces.
