Heavy Dark Paprika-Red-Brown Melange Silk for Obi, 5.5 Yard BOLT from Japan #122
Pure silk bolt for a heavy, thick, strong obi, woven in a chunky, thick but supple, no-shine, colorful-but-dark weave. No doubt hand woven, it's mostly dark red with blues, golds, purples, and oranges combining to read, in our opinion, as paprika. It's mostly the plain narrow stripes, but in three areas the weave changes: it's lighter and finer, and the stripes are wavy, in a 15" long area, a 22" long area, and an 8" long area. (Done on the loom, all the same 5.5 yard piece). Very thick pure silk, meant for obi, vintage but never used and in excellent condition, from Japan. For bags, runners, pillows, etc. You'll get the whole bolt: 12" wide and 5-1/2 yards long, 19.5 ounces. We'll include the interesting old label, too. This silk is gorgeous.
