Coppers/Browns /Olive Ombre Matelasse Vintage Kimono Silk Piece 14" x 76" #7230

Vintage silk from a former life as a kimono probably decades ago, this silk has blends of copper, rust, browns and greens, with slightly crinkled grayish matelasse flowers known in Japan as Fukureori.  The base jacquard is strewn with small leaves - this silk is a work of art... several arts. Light, soft, smooth, flowy, supple and drapey, with soft texture from the fukureori. There are minor fold lines down each long edge from its previous kimono seams; they aren't strong and will probably iron out.  Otherwise, pristine condition. The back is similar with deeper richer colors and nearly white large flower outlines; they were reverse dyed to be more subtle on the front. 100% Silk.  Japan. Extraordinary.
