Mid-weight 100% cotton, true double ikat in red and orange on true black. It's about the weight of quilting cotton, about 6 ounces per 44" wide yard, but it's hand loomed and therefore more drapey, soulful and textured. There may be charming inconsistencies or a few loose threads, not to be considered flaws. Being a true ikat, both sides are the same.
This ikat was woven in the Bhoodan-Pochampally area of Telangana, India, whose weavers are known for creating ikats with intricate geometric patterns, vibrant colors, and durability. This is the heart of the textural and color uniqueness that define the beauty of this style of ikat from India.
100% Cotton, 44/45" wide and sold by the full yard. Your piece will be continuous.
Gently hand wash separately in cold water with mild detergent. Avoid bleach. Avoid soaking for too long. Colors may bleed when washed for the first time. Hang to dry. We machine wash and dry ours with no problems; they shrink at first and get even softer with time.
