Cream/Indigo Cotton Crosses Double Ikat, India, 44" Wide, By the Yard #CHL-27

Handloomed double ikat, in an overall Crosses weave in cream and dark navy/indigo/almost black. Perfect mid weight and hand for all apparel. Lusciously soft. Wonderful for shirts, quilts, table linens, bedding, pillows, window coverings, skirts, loose pants, scarves and dresses.  This is a true double ikat; difficult to produce, front and back are the same, with a few lovely imperfections and slubs and a bit of drape. You can see the level of show-through in the photos with the double-layered bolt.

We machine wash and dry ours with no problem; it seems to get softer and better with time. The supplier recommends hand washing cool, separately, no bleach, line dry. Which ever path you take, pre-treat before sewing and treat the item the same way. As with most cotton wovens, it may soften, fluff, and shrink around 10%.

India. 100% Cotton. 43" wide. Each selvedge has about 1" without the design, so the ikat is about 41" across.
