REMNANT 1-3/8 YARD Ivory Ikat, Rustic-Fancy Hexagons, Arrows Vintage Kimono Silk from Japan #623

  • $22.00

Golden brownish-ivory, antique look, complex, highly decorated ikat with colorful, auspicious, good luck, longevity and happiness symbols within Kikko tortoise shell hexagon shapes. An arrow/feather design appears quite a bit. In the weave there are browns, orange, blue, green, black and white. The background is quite rustic, clearly handwoven, slubby and a little shiny, with a surface and weight similar to shantung or dupioni. It's thin and crisp, not heavy, but not as light as most vintage kimono silks, and has body. No drape. A true ikat, both sides are the same.  14" wide, sold by the full yard and we'll cut yours in one piece from the vintage bolt. Excellent condition but the selvedges are a bit wavy as in many handwoven vintage fabrics. So your piece may not lie completely flat. Exceptional 100% Silk. Japan.

*** This is the last of this fabric, it's 14" wide and 1-3/8 yard long. Order "1" for the piece.
