Raspberry Glace Misty Pongee, Vintage Handwoven Kimono Silk from Japan By the Yard # 124

Muted reddish-purply-pink with a hint of silky sheen, with tiny, lengthwise, very fine blue and wine red stripes, just one silk thread thick randomly but perfectly placed. There may also be a little black and white; the weave is so fine it's hard to tell. There are misty blurs throughout, like clouds lifting, barely noticeable at first but the weaver has somehow achieved hovering lighter areas a few inches in size, natural looking and misty, not geometric. Slubs are mostly dark red wine. Lightweight, thin but not drapey, not much body, both sides just the same, textured from the slubs.  14" wide and sold by the full yard. Your piece will be cut in one piece from the beautiful condition, unused, vintage bolt. We're guessing natural dyes and hand woven. Yes or no, it's exquisite. 100% Fine Silk. Japan.
