Poppies in Progress, 3 Pieces Vintage Un-Steamed Kimono Silk Shibori, Still Crinkled. #279

  • $120.00

Pale beige-peach shibori silk has had the shibori threads removed after dying, but has not been steamed, flattened, smoothed.  So these silk pieces are very crinkled and condensed.  We assume they were to be the more ornate parts of a kimono.  Once steamed and ironed, they'd be closer to 13-14" wide, supple, soft, flowy and light, but these pieces are narrower, which is how we've measured: relaxed not stretched. They each have different shibori designs but they coordinate.  This is a unique, rare treasure. Age unknown; guessing 1970's?  100% Silk. Japan. Order "1" for all 3 pieces.

One piece is about 8" x 32".

One piece is about 11" x 63" with shibori about 4-5" of the width, and the rest plain jacquard.

One piece is 60" long and varies from 6" to 9" wide.
