Black and indigo create the look of nearly black midnight blue. Sleek, soft and smooth, handwoven with tiny, not-raised, not-textury squares, rectangles, slashes and lines, in precise rows across the width - a very skillfully produced ikat.  The blue figures against the black add beautiful depth to this gorgeous, hard to find kasuri ikat silk which unfortunately has some small spots. They're not serious and can probably be cleaned, but they are in almost every yard, shown in the photos with the chopstick. We test-washed a piece in cool water with a touch of laundry soap and air dried, and the spots came out.

Thin, lightweight, smooth, a bit crisp, not truly shiny, it's soft and exceptional.  Both sides are just the same. Probably indigo dyed. Great selvedges with black silk loops. 14.5" wide and sold by the full yard, we'll cut yours in one piece from the unused bolt.  A very low price per yard because of the spots. 100% Silk. Japan.
