Black and indigo create the look of nearly black midnight blue. Sleek, soft and smooth, handwoven with tiny, not-raised, not-textury squares, rectangles, slashes and lines, in precise rows across the width - a very skillfully produced ikat.  The blue figures against the black add beautiful depth to this gorgeous, hard to find kasuri ikat silk which unfortunately has mold spots, at least one in every yard, per the photos with the chopstick. Thin, lightweight, smooth, a bit crisp, not truly shiny, it's soft and exceptional.  Both sides are just the same. Probably indigo dyed. Great selvedges with black silk loops. 14.5" wide and sold by the full yard, we'll cut yours in one piece from the unused bolt.  A very low price per yard because of the spots. 100% Silk. Japan.
