Meisen Ecru/Red/Gray Sunburst Old Kimono Silk Pieces from Japan 13.5" x 42" #253

Hard to find eggshell-off-white-parchment color. These are pieces from an old, disassembled kimono, classic Meisen silk; the silky kind, not the cottony kind. Thin, fine, smooth, soft and light, a bit delicate, and the same front and back. True Meisen ikat with intentional 'blurry' edges and a slight sheen.  It's quite old and has stains and imperfections as you can see - definitely not pristine condition but to us, the 'flaws' add to the beauty and mysterious history of these old kimono pieces. Probably 60-70 years old, from a former kimono.  100% Silk, Japan.
