Blue Silk 'Calico' Print, Tiny Floral / Diamonds from Japan By the Yard #233
Reminiscent of a calico, in several blues from light to dark, with tiny dots in the flower centers on the corners of each diamond, in black. That's the only black, and there is no white; that's light blue. The darkest color to us looks more teal than navy. This small, sweet print is unusual for a Japanese kimono silk. Each diamond is less than 2" in size and the detail is intricate and perfect. The base silk has a jacquard in the weave which you can see in the last photo. It adds even more depth and interest to this silk. The front has no sheen and an almost muted, sueded look and feel. At first your eye thinks yukata cotton, but this is sooo different. Thin, light, very soft and supple silk in excellent condition from the unused vintage bolt. 14" wide; sold by the full yard and we'll cut yours in one piece. 100% Silk. Japan.
