Gray/Black/White Vintage Kimono Tsumugi Silk Ikat By the Yard # 550

This vintage Kimono silk is slubby and textured, with a complex double ikat weave in off-white, true black, and gray. Maple leaves, currents in streams, homes and gardens, flowers and villages. Everything is done in the weave using traditional, time consuming true ikat techniques. No shine, a matte hand, with a bit of body crispness, not much drape. Handwoven decades ago and carefully stored, it's thin, light and strong. It's similar to quilting cotton's weight and thickness.  14" wide 100% silk in excellent condition and sold by the full yard. We'll cut yours from the vintage, never used bolt. Japan.
