Lacy Glass buttons are created using Susan Clarke's unique hand-painting technique on Czech Glass buttons. She uses special types of paint in layers of color on the backs, and lighter on the edges, in such a way that, from the front, light reflects back through the colors. It was a technique used in the 1800's by the Czech Republic but even by the 1900's was rarely done even in Czechoslovakia. She has revived and improved upon the nearly-lost Czech tradition and uses specialty paints and her own techniques. She hand paints each one individually, even the tiniest, most intricate details. They are magically beautiful. Czechoslovakia/California. One of a Kind. Limited Supply.
