Indigos/Blacks Grid-Weave Melange, Kimono Wool from Japan By the Yard #240
Many different blues, blue-violets, blacks and grays, a bit of turquoise, and off-white. A complex weave that seems handwoven; it's always changing, has some slubs and definitely a personality. We see control and precise placement of colors, but also the chance that the weaver let the colors fall where they may. So, is this an ikat or not? The skinny off-white and light gray threads help to create contrast and texture. Both sides look the same. It's thin for wool, light and smooth, a little crisp, with body and no shine. 100% Wool, 14.5" wide, from Japan, sold by the full yard. We'll cut yours in a continuous piece from the bolt.
