Nani Iro "As It Is" Cotton Double Gauze from Japan, 41" Wide By the Yard #EGX-11150-1A

From designer Naomi Ito, for Nani Iro 2023, this large floral print is cotton double gauze. Two layers of light, thin, soft 100% cotton gauze are tacked together at regular intervals. The loose weave of each layer gives the fabric a bit of a spongy, fluffy, springy texture and very soft feel.  Double gauze is semi-opaque and lighter colors especially may be a bit see-through. The print spans the 41" width of the fabric; the whole width is shown in the second photo with the clothespins.  Soft, lightweight and breathable, double gauze is good for loose pants, shirts and tops, scarves, skirts, loose jackets, nightwear, dresses, wraps and other clothing, baby clothes and blankets, robes and pajamas, household linens, windows, decor, etc. 

The name Nani IRO comes from the Hawaiian words "nani" (beautiful) and "IRO" (color, harmony).  It is a brand designed by Japanese watercolor painter and textile designer Naomi Ito.

Care: Hand or machine wash delicate/cool. Tumble dry low, or air dry. Press using cotton setting with steam. Pre-washing/drying the fabric is also important, as is the way you plan to launder the finished garment. Expect shrinkage and maybe soft crinkling as the open weave gauze closes up
