Indigo Kasuri Crepe Cotton Ikat from Japan 40" Wide, By the Half Yard # NS-41
True Aizome indigo artisan textile from Japan. Medium-weight cotton with a twisted yarn creating a subtle crepe texture and feel. Long woven rows are about 3.3" wide and have similar but different patterning in blended indigos and off-whites. This is a high end cotton, soft, supple, luscious, luxurious, not stiff or sleek or shiny. A matte finish; not smooth, it's ever so slightly crinkled from the crepe, slightly gauze-like, and absolutely divine. It has more drape than body and is not crisp at all. A true kasuri ikat, meticulously dyed, both sides are just the same. Weight per full yard is a little over 6 ounces; good for for pants, bags, pillows, jackets, dresses, skirts, shirts, home, etc. Order "1" per HALF yard and yours will be in one piece. The last two photos with the yardstick show 40" wide lengths of about a yard, in different areas on the 6.5 yard piece we have. The ikat patterning is always changing. 40" wide, 100% Cotton. Newly woven, not vintage. Japan. Exceptional. Hand-dyed and different throughout. Limited supply.
Wash by itself; indigo color may run especially at first. Cool water, hang to dry.
