Cosmic Purple Obi Silk 3.75 Yards, Heavy Thick Vintage Brocade from Japan, #275

Purples and and pinkish purples galore, in this ornate, glistening but not overly shiny brocade silk from Japan. It's shorter than most obi, just 3.75 yards long. The first 40" is the wavy undulating swirly flowery design, with silver sparkles the camera can't catch, for the whole width.  The rest of this piece, 95" long, is divided in half lengthwise, with one long strip of that design, sharing its width with the ornate stripe design. There are no areas of solid purple without design. The back is similar in color and basic design, but with less detail.  This is for the entire piece, 11.5" wide and 135" long or 3.75 yards. As with most obi fabrics, all the changes are done in the weave and it's one piece, not separate fabrics sewn together.  We found two spots shown in the photos with pins. Otherwise it's in fantastic condition, vibrant and amazing. Heavy, stiff, thick, ornate obi fabric, probably several decades old, from Japan. 100% Silk.
