SALE Wine Paisley Floral Vintage Silk Sari, Chiffon, 44" x 200", Liquid Drape, Supple #SR40

5-1/2 yards of supple, light, fine, flowy, very drapey, semi-sheer chiffon silk, with a dark wine paisley floral print.  The print on the main portion, which is a little over 4.5 yards, has smaller paisleys. The 36" of fancier print, called the 'pallu' portion, has larger paisleys and stripes in the design. Both long selvedge sides have a woven-in, not separately sewn on, gold border about 1.5" wide. The wine color and the print, with wine, magenta and purply reds, is quite dark and from a distance rather reads as burgundy. Vintage in excellent condition, probably very lightly worn. The silk is thin, fine, light, classic soft chiffon, drapey, flowy, very soft and supple. The print is gorgeous and well executed. For beautiful semi-sheer scarves, blouses, skirts, dresses, flowy pants, robes, sleepwear, linings, etc... 100% Silk. India. Weight about 13 ounces.
