Indigo Slubby Rainbow, Vintage Kimono Silk Stripe from Japan By the Yard #107
On the heavy side for silk, very textured, similar in weight and thickness to quilting cotton. This is a slubby, multi-colored yarn-dyed, probably handwoven stripe with lots of black slubs and mostly blue (many blues), dark red, purples, mauves, gray, black and gold. All the colors blend with the black and navy so they aren't bright. The stripes stay basically the same throughout the bolt and it has an overall indigo/softened blueberry/old denim look. It's supple, with a bit of body and a bit of drape. Not crisp or stiff at all; more soft and supple. Both sides are the same. 14" wide and sold by the full yard, yours will be cut in a continuous piece from the excellent condition, never used, carefully stored bolt. 100% Silk. Stunning. Japan.
