Ice-Blue-White Ikat with 'Woven Birds', Vintage Kimono Silk from Japan By the Yard #109
Pale blue woven with pearly white, with ikat shapes curving from side to side through the bolt: pairs of blue birds, blue currents and an orange, blue and green design closer to the outer edges before it swerves back again. Thin and light, soft, textured and slubby, with no shine. Gorgeous! It has a slight drape and also a bit of body. There are spots; see the chopsticks pointing to them. They are minor and small, but seem to be in almost every yard. Otherwise this silk is so beautiful, the soft color glows. Discounted because you'll probably get some small, not too terrible, light spots. 22" repeat. A true, difficult-to-weave ikat, both sides are the same. 14" wide and sold by the full yard, yours will be cut in a continuous piece from never used bolt. 100% Silk. Japan.
