Bamboo Moon, Vintage Kimono Dot Print Silk from Japan By the Yard #756

This lush print is all dots, mostly cream, all small, on many reds, wines, orange-reds, cranberry, burgundy, olive, ochre, and black. To us, it reads largely as cayenne, (mixed with many other colors of course), quite warm, not towards purple at all. It's very intricate and complex - stunningly, elegantly beautiful. It's thin, light, tightly woven, feels a bit like very smooth cotton as many of these dot print silks do. It has more body than drape and is similar to the weight of quilting cotton but much more fine, silky and smooth. It's just barely crisp. The back is mostly cream; the print comes through just a little. 14" wide, 19/20" repeat, in perfect condition and sold by the full yard, we'll cut yours in one continuous piece from the vintage bolt.   Japan. 

It's much better in person; there are so many colors mixed together in such fine detail that the camera struggles to capture each color completely accurately.
