Amethyst/Raisin Shooting Stars, Dusty Purple Textural Slubby Vintage Kimono Silk from Japan By the Yard #129
Very slubby, with lots of natural texture and thicker/thinner, lighter/darker silk fibers, created mainly from dusty rose and raisin. The result is a muted, rich amethyst color, with lots of lengthwise, pastel dusty rose shooting-star streaks in the weave, lighter and darker. The darker streaks and slubs are mostly across the width, and, full disclosure, some aren't in straight rows; the grain is a little off as you can see. But this silk's natural beauty is so great that it may be okay with you. Thin and mid-weight, but very crisp and stable, with no shine and lots of body and bounce. So... we gently machine washed a swatch in cool water and machine dried on low heat, and it became supple and soft, a bit drapey, luscious, with no color change and no crisp left at all; a sueded, quite softened version of itself. 14" wide and sold by the full yard; we'll cut yours in one piece from the beautiful condition, never used vintage bolt. 100% Silk. Japan.
The color is consistent dusty amethyst; if any of the photos make the color look blotchy or discolored, please forgive us; it's just the camera struggling with the many layers, colors and textures, in the light.
