Toasty Chunky Rustic Brown Stripe Kimono Fabric from Japan By the Yard Wool/Silk/Hemp? # 130
Yarn dyed with stripes running fully through the length in green, raisin, yellow, red, navy, aqua and magenta. Off-white and pink fancy-woven stripes every 4-8" apart in random spacing part way across the width. The warm brown background color is like roasted grain, brown paper bags, chip board ... with lots of darker brown and white slubs - much 'chunkier' than most Japanese fabrics we've seen. The back is the same but the pink and off-white stripes are almost gone, but there are small fringy tufts, mini tassels, of their threads in little rectangles where each one ends. On the heavy, stiff side, with body, heft, no drape, shine or sheen - very rustic and natural. We think wool/silk; it feels much like pure wool or pure hemp. It holds a crease which most wool doesn't. Perhaps some hemp or other bast fiber? Definitely no synthetic.
14" wide, sold by the full yard, and we'll cut yours in one piece from the carefully stored, perfect condition, never used bolt. Japan.
