Temples, Ochre-Gold and Olive Chirimen Crepe Kimono Silk By the Yard #019
Exceptional in every way, this pebble-textured chirimen crepe bingata silk may be quite old but is in beautiful condition. The background is an ochre-glowing olive that is absolutely stunning and seems bronze-brushed. The ochre hills seem drenched in sunlight. It feels like the green and ochre are from mud minerals - they speak of the earth. Beautiful contrast with the dark pinks and teals. Temples, hills, streams, gardens, trees, flowers, bridges. Chirimen crepe 100% silk is flowy, lightweight, supple, with a very pebbly texture, dry hand, lots of drape and no shine. The back is almost as sharp and vivid. Vintage, hand-dyed art silk from Japan, this unused bolt was created for a kimono and never used. The photos barely convey the beauty of this silk. If I had my Japanese fabric museum, this would be in it. 14" wide and sold by the full yard. We'll cut yours in one piece to your order. If you're first you'll also get the fringe and stamps on the un-dyed end.
