REMNANT 5/8 Yard, Ginger Fancy Tribal Vintage Kimono Fabric from Japan, #288
Spicy cognac gingery colors blending in a slubby, textured weave with stripes in always-changing blue-greens and gold, woven into the burgundy-golden ginger background. Rows of 1/2" tall burgundy stylized X's or perhaps people, evenly spaced through the bolt. It's a beautiful effect with soul and variance. The other side is almost identical, but the human X's are gold; there are photos of both sides. The overall ginger background is 100% consistent even if some of the photos show tones of gray or yellow. The camera gets confused with so many colors and textures blending sometimes.
We think it's silk/wool blend; it's quite soft, not shiny, crispy, slippery or synthetic feeling at all. It's thin, mid-lightweight and tightly woven. It has body and holds a crease and will be simple to sew; it has a warm, cotton-like feel. We love the depth of color and smooth but interesting texture in this beautiful fabric from Japan.
14" wide, 5/8 yard long. Order "1" for this remnant.
