2-2/3 Yard Piece, Pale Turquoise Kimono Silk/Rayon? Print Crepe from Japan # 101
29" wide kimono fabric from Japan, which is double the typical width of Japanese kimono fabrics, one reason why we think this fabric is fairly new, probably not vintage. Brushstrokes print in cream, indigo and rust, on pastel green-blue, in lengthwise 'stripes'. It has a subtle crepe weave and slight pebbled texture, like a subtle chirmen, some drape and a bit of body, a dry hand and no shine. It's light and thin, a bit supple and flowy. Silk/rayon blend, perhaps? There were no labels. It was folded once lengthwise and rolled on a 15" roll, so there's a crease at 14.5", which you can see in the last photo. Perfect condition, from Japan. This piece is 29" wide and 2-2/3 yards long. Order "1" for the piece.
