'Antique' Kimono Silk, Moab, Vintage Chirimen Crepe By the Yard #462995
The liquid-drape silk is the taupey-plum color of Utah's red rock country: muted and dusty. This Japanese kimono silk seems quite old, is very crinkly, possibly from Okinawa from 1930's-40's? It either looks much like or is, a bingata. Flowers and gardens, a Japanese house, bridges and water, iris, cherry and plum trees; in soft dusty turquoise and berry tones with cream. There is one small cream rectangle with some hard to read Japanese writing in it, at the beginning of the bolt. There's also a large yellow label we haven't translated but which may answer some of our many questions. The drape is extreme, the hand is dry and there is no shine at all. Puckery and textured, vintage chirimen silk crepe in excellent condition. Japan.
14" wide. Sold by the full yard and we'll cut yours in one piece from the vintage, carefully stored bolt.
