Purple/Black Dynamic Currents Ikat Vintage Kimono Silk By the Yard #737

Swirling black currents circling dramatically through rustic purple silk. This ikat must have taken great skill to produce; the currents whirl gracefully in random rounded motions, thicker and thinner, all created in the weave; this isn't a print. 100% silk, slubby, with a beautiful texture, in dark, black-kissed purple.  It's tightly woven, mid-weight and thin, very soft, a bit crispy with a little body and a matte finish. It seems like raw silk, like noil with body. This is a true ikat and both sides look the same. The purple color is even though the bolt. Sold by the full yard and yours will be in one piece, cut from the never-used, excellent condition, vintage bolt. 14" wide. 100% Silk. Japan.
