Liquid Drape Rose-Clay Jacquard Kimono Silk Print By the Yard #277
Ocean waves, homes in villages along the shore, mountains and farms. The print is mostly charcoal and white tiny dots, created to look raised but actually this silk is incredibly soft and smooth. The base jacquard of small abstract flecks adds a bit of glisten but to us it's not truly shiny. The color is rosey clay, strong but calm, and the print almost looks like tiny silver beads. We think this a Tango Chirimen from Kyoto: the liquid drape, difficult print, subtle sheen, nearly-white back, and very soft crepe texture is just like other Tango silk chirimens we've seen. It's very soft, supple, lightweight, high-end, flowy and smooth, in perfect condition from the vintage, carefully stored unused bolt. 100% very fine silk. Exceptional. Japan.
14" wide. Sold by the full yard, and we'll cut yours in one piece from the bolt.
