100% Cotton from Japan. Designed by Yumi Yoshimoto for Kokka Japan, this print is called Weekend City. They call the weave Viyella, it's very tightly woven and may be a twill or sateen weave - it has a smooth but not slick surface. It's wonderfully soft, smooth and supple, with a bit of drape and a bit of body. It's lighter in weight than quilting cotton, and smoother. You would almost think it's partly silk. It would be great for tailored pieces, dresses, pants, skirts, bags, pillows, accessories and more. One yard weighs about 4.5 ounces. 24" repeat: the second photo shows about 2 yards of the whole 42" width.

Pre-washing and ironing before sewing will often give better results and inform how to care for the item after it's sewn. Your fabric may shrink and some darker colors may transfer when fabrics are wet. Machine drying or dry cleaning are not recommended. Hand wash and hang to dry.
