Farm and Temples Vintage Kimono Silk from Japan By the Yard #514
With a feel just like silk noil, this raw silk from Japan has a print in greens, orange-reds, and caramel with off-white outlines created with from resist - that's the natural color of the silk before dying. The artwork has a watercolor, mottled look and a folk art feel, with charming fields, trees, waterways, homes and orchards and temples, possibly covered bridges? All stylized. It may be hand dyed and is much nicer than the photos; there is depth to the images the camera doesn't capture. This silk is light and thin, 'fluffy' as in the typical feel of raw silk; it's not smooth but very soft. It's supple, almost drapey, with no body or stiffness at all. 14" wide and sold by the full yard; we'll cut yours in one piece from the excellent condition, never used vintage bolt. 100% Silk Japan.
