Bamboo Moon, Vintage Kimono Dot Print from Japan By the Yard #756

This lush print is all dots, mostly cream, all small, on many reds, wines, orange-reds, cranberry, burgundy, olive, ochre, and black. To us, it reads largely as cayenne, (mixed with many other colors of course), quite warm, not towards purple at all. It's very intricate and complex - stunningly beautiful. It's thin, light, tightly woven, feels a bit like very smooth cotton; no shine or glisten at all, very soft. It has more body than drape and is similar to the weight of quilting cotton but much more fine, silky and smooth. It's just barely crisp. The back is mostly cream; the print comes through just a little. 14" wide, 19/20" repeat, in perfect condition and sold by the full yard, we'll cut yours in one continuous piece from the vintage bolt.  Silk possibly with some wool. Japan. 

It's much better in person; there are so many colors so mixed together in such fine detail that it's difficult to capture each color completely accurately.
