DEEPER SALE Dark Indigo Tsumugi Vintage Handwoven Raw Silk By the Yard from Japan, #101

Dark midnight blue is nearly black, and this silk is on the heavy side for kimono silk, and also a bit thicker. Beautiful ikat with lighter blue, gray-white, yellow and red flowers are at 21" repeats. It's very soft, not sleek or shiny at all; classic raw silk Tsumugi, with lots texture and slubs which is hard to see on the dark color. Pretty gray selvedges. A true ikat, both sides are the same. The label on the right, with the illustration of leaves, certifies this Tsumugi as Yuki Pongee Silk using natural indigo. 14.5" wide, sold by the full yard. We'll cut yours in one piece from the never used, vintage bolt. The portion with labels and fringe has sold but shown for reference. 100% Silk from Japan. Excellent condition.
