Perhaps the little flying bits are meant to signify pieces of cards, fabric, paper, or ?  Some have little 'bites' - wabi sabi?  They are over-painted, evidently by hand since they don't exactly match, and many have gold as well as bright colors. Dark navy/ indigo blue base with a jacquard of overall tiny flowers created by tiny dots, which adds sheen and interest. The jacquard is hard to see in most of the photos.  Lightweight, drapey, supple and flowy silk is sleek and smooth. The front has a satin glow. 25" repeat. 14" wide, sold by the full yard. We'll cut yours in one piece from the perfect condition, never used vintage bolt.  100% Silk. Japan.
