Black on Black Hidden Gardens Chirimen Crepe Kimono Silk from Japan, By the Yard, #234
Nearly invisible traditional Japanese homes, gardens, iris and other flowers, pine tree forests and plum blossoms, created with detailed, complex jacquard woven into the silk, every few inches apart. Some are tiny, just a few flowers. Others a few inches in size with more elements. They are more or less visible depending on the light, but always subtle. The solid ivory 3/4" 'kamon' circles would be for the owner of the future kimono to add their family crest; there may be a few in the bolt, on the edge, so you may get one or two. Liquid drape, flowy, lightweight, smooth, softly textured with crepe "rivulets", soft and sooo supple true black chirimen silk crepe. The details in the black-on-black jacquard designs are hard to photograph, so we've made some of the images gray or purple to show you. (Fabric is blackest black!) This vintage 1960's silk is in perfect condition, unused, on the bolt. 100% Silk. Japan.
