Yarn Dyed Small Squares Yarn Dyed Japanese Indigo Cotton By the Yard #909
Dark indigo and a lighter blue combine in this yarn-dyed cotton. It's quite crispy and stiff, a bit textured from the weave, mid weight, the same on both sides. We think the tag on the front indicates it is indigo dyed; the illustration looks like an indigo plant. The hand is not unlike seersucker or cotton crepe; it's probably an Awa Shijira cotton, which is a Cultural Heritage fabric in Japan; complicated to produce, plant dyed, and historically significant. It is kimono cotton, excellent for warm weather kimono. It's not soft; it has a slightly bumpy, dry hand. We're not sure of its age but it's either fairly new or has been carefully stored. It's in perfect condition.
14" wide and sold by the full yard. We'll cut yours in one piece from the never used bolt. We haven't untied it yet in case you would like the whole bolt of 12 yards. Then you'll get it per the photos with all the tags and strings tying it into a bundle as shown.
