Designed to be a summer kimono, this crisp fabric is quite sheer and a bit stiff. It may soften if washed. The label says it's 40% Wool for sure, and our fairly accurate translation program translates the rest as 28% Linen and 32% Rayon. It's unusual and quite wonderful; sheer and bouncy, light and thin, not scratchy or 'wooly' at all. We'd assume it was only linen and rayon, or maybe much less wool. When crushed it recovers quickly and doesn't hold the crease. Abstract gridlines were created by the purple and cream fibers, and some of the lines are slightly raised to create subtle linen-like texture on one side; the other side is smoother. Unwashed as it is, It reminds us of fine interfacing or organza, thin, featherweight, easy to sew, and a little stiff. We machine washed and dried a swatch, cool/cool, and it shrunk a little, softened a little, crinkled a little. 14" wide, perfect condition, and sold by the full yard. We'll cut yours in a continuous piece the length you order, from the never-used bolt.  Japan.
