Magenta Tropical Meisen Ikat Vintage Kimono Silk from Japan, By the Yard #385 Purple

Light grey, yellow, light blue, orange and black, on a bright deep magenta background. the ikat design seems tropical-flower-inspired and is bold and full of life. The edges have a nice meisen blur, and the weave has a few imperfections and slubs typical of many old Meisen. It's cross-woven with black which adds dimension. Lightweight, thin and sleek, feels smoother and more 'silky' than some of the more 'cottony' Meisen. It has a bit of shine.  It came folded neatly and those are the creases you see  - they aren't too-too sharp. The back is just the same in this true ikat. 26" repeat.
