SALE Kyoto Chartreuse Sunflower Rustic Vintage Kimono Silk By the Yard #372

Rustic, slubby handwoven kimono silk is thin and light, tightly woven and a little crisp, with body. The background is woven primarily with gold and red, with black weft, so it reads as faded red; made even more beautiful because of all the slubs, in all colors, shapes and sizes. So, lots of interesting texture and handwoven character.  Scattered large sunflowers with hints of softened chartreuse (created from gold and black) in the petals. No two flowers match exactly. Both sides look the same; the design is woven, not printed. Lots of texture, striations and slubs. 14" wide and sold by the full yard; we'll cut yours from the vintage, excellent condition (but old, handwoven and with lots of slubs) bolt. Japan.
