Tsumugi handweave looks and feels like what we call dupioni - slubby and rustic yet elegant, with body, softness, texture, and no shine. The weight and thickness is also like dupioni - not crisp and it doesn't rustle. The very dark navy is almost black and probably from real indigo. Woven with white-outlined rectangles and tiny red-orange or green crosses inside some of them. The three-rectangles groups are spaced 4" apart. A true ikat, front and back are just the same, even the rectangles. The blue is very dark, not at all bright or towards royal; it's almost black, yarn dyed and very even throughout the bolt. The red -orange and green show up in person better than in the photos. Excellent condition 14" wide, 100% silk. Sold by the full yard, and we'll cut yours in one piece from the vintage, never used bolt. Japan.
