Meisen Iridescent Coppery Gold Old Silk Pieces from Japan FOUR NARROW PIECES #7580
This is classic Meisen silk; the silky kind, not the cottony kind. Thin, fine, smooth, soft and light, a bit delicate, and the same front and back. True Meisen ikat with intentional 'blurry' edges between the copper and the flowers. Lots of sheen. The color is exceptional and vivid; the deep red wine glows every time you or the fabric moves, and the bright saffron color plays with it constantly; this silk is alive. It's quite old and there are visible old seam lines, some stains, and notches snipped on the selvedges, probably other small issues. It's definitely not perfect condition but somehow the 'flaws' seem to add to the breathtaking beauty and mysterious history of these old kimono pieces. 100% Silk, Probably 60-70 years old, from a former kimono. Light as a feather. Japan.
These are the four narrower kimono pieces, shown in the first 3 photos. They're only 6" wide so the flower designs won't be complete. Sizes are: 6" x 70". 6" x 31". Two pieces 6" x 49". You'll get all four.
