Black Jewels Tsumugi Wool/Silk Vintage Stripe from Japan by the Yard # 526

Lots of black in the weave deepens all the jewel tones; greens, blues, purples, reds.  A little light gray and gold, but mostly blackened jewel tones, it reads as reddish purple. Slubby, coarse, rustic, 75% Wool / 25% Silk originally designed and hand woven probably decades ago for cool weather kimono, it's a true Tsumugi and is the same on both sides, yarn dyed. Heavy for kimono fabric, a bit stuff, with body. No shine or drape. It's in perfect condition. 14" wide, sold and cut by the full yard; yours will be in one continuous piece.  Japan.
